Today my class made there own 3D models and we had to draw them in 3D and 2D. In the 2D thing we had to draw  the top, the right side, the left side and the front.

Descriptive Writing

At the moment in class we have been working on descriptive writing. We have been using pictures to give us ideas of what to write about. Here is a piece of writing I did.

Bring Your Dinosaur To School Day

One day the teacher said it was bring your pet to school tomorrow so I brought my pet dinosaur.

First I had to clean my dinosaur’s teeth and then polish it’s claws.

SO after I had done that I had to try and fit him into the car.

But he couldn’t fit so I called Grandad to bring his truck and put Andy the dinosaur in the back.

Then we got to school and everyone saw him and then teachers seen him and they didn’t really like him.

Then I got sent to the office so the teachers told me to call my Grandad to pick up Andy so I called my Grandad and told him to pick up Andy.

    Then my Grandad picked Andy up and left I was sad and I knew Andy was to because I could hear him crying but roars “RoAr”.

                                                                                                                                          

Now I’m in big trouble for bringing a dinosaur to school.

So yeah that’s the end bye!!

Kereru

THE KERERU

The Kereru is a New Zealand Wood pigeon that has green, white,
brown and a little bit of blue feathers. It lives in the bush and I don’t
think it migrates anywhere in the world apart from New Zealand
because it is called the New Zealand wood pigeon (Kereru).

The Kereru eats Leaves, Flowers and Fruit. They like to eat miro,
tawa and karaka berries. In the the forest the kereru raises one chick
at a time. Sometimes even three in one breeding season. They can be
found on the North, South and Stewart Islands and many forested
offshore islands. Chicks leave the nest at 30 to 45 days old.  
The males like to show off to the females by flying around and doing
tricks.

The Kereru predators are cats, possums, stoats and rats.  
Habitat loss and illegal hunting is also how kereru die. People
chopping down trees kill the kereru as well.  

Kereru often crash around trees. They can be quite noisey.
They are named kuku because of the whistling sound their wings
make when they fly.
