Noho Marae

On the 5 & 6 of March Room 1 and Room 8 went to Arahura Marae and stayed the night. We went down to the river and then we went to the beach to make sculpture. Then before we went to bed we done activities. The activities were Rippa Rugby, weaving, tukutuku, Then the next day we had breakfast and then we had to leave to go for a walk at Mahinapua lake. It was a good walk i want to do it again but I lost my shoe in some mud so I hope there is no mud next time i go. Then we came back to school.

Kea Patrol

Kea Patrol
I think that kea patrol should NOT be in the morning because the kea patrol people could be late and people cross the road at different times. Kea patrol in the afternoon is very busy. The signs aren’t used in very windy and rainy conditions.
Firstly, Kea patrol should not be in the morning because the kea patrol people might forget to do it or they might be late. The little kids should have kea patrol but the big kids who are year 7 to year 8 should not need kea patrol because the year 7 and 8 students should know how to cross the road.

Secondly, Kea patrol is in the afternoon which is good because lots of people will be going home or going places or going to trainings so after school will be busy. The speed signs show you that you have to slow down to 40 which helps the kea patrol people get people across the road easier.

Thirdly, I think it’s good they don’t use the signs when it’s really rainy and when it's really windy. Then the teachers pretend to be the signs and help us cross the road and let us go home. The signs are also a decent size for what the school needs and they are a bright colour.

In conclusion I believe kea patrol is good overall. I use it everyday after school. It helps me cross the most deadly road in the country safely.

Persuasive Writing - Why we should fix our field

We have been having a go at writing a piece of persuasive writing. Here is my piece of writing about why we should fix our field. 

Title A Short Statement about the topic. eg. ‘Rugby League Is A Great Sport’	Fix Our Field
Overview/ Statement of position A brief statement of your view about the topic.  What you believe or want to argue.	I strongly believe we should fix the school field. We need to fix the field because it is wet most of the time so we can’t go on it and we need to do important sports training and special events.
Series of Arguments Reasons Your points supporting your view about the topic.  Your arguments to support your statement and information to support these arguments. Remember -argument -supporting detail, reasons, examples	Firstly, the Board of trustees and Mrs Truman should fix the field because everyone is crowded kids need to play, run, train and Another issue is people need to train for tournaments, events.
	Secondly, sometimes when a ball goes over the fence it takes ages to get it back.
	Thirdly, kids can get hurt really bad because it's crowded with lots of students around. Because people get in the way of other people's games then
	Finally, it’s a waste> (moumou) of money because there's equipment the school does not use the field because the it's off limits.
