New York
Hello, I am Callan I am in America at the moment. I was in New York I had 3 flights to get to New York. New York was really fun because there were lots of things to do there like going to the Empire State Building, Statue Of Liberty, Grand Central Station, The World Trade Center and go in the busy Subway. New York was really busy there was a lot of people there. Fun Fact the only clothes I have bought are basketball clothing. I am writing in L.A. so yeah. I did a lot of things in New York but the big thing about New York was the Yankees game. I went to the Yankees game, the Yankees went up against the Los Angeles Angels. It was a great game but the New York Yankees lost that game by 1 run. While I was in New York I went to the Offical NBA Store I was so excited to be there I have got 4 things from there. So that was New York next up is the L.A. Blog post

Super Stan
Super Stan
On August 7th Karoro School Seniors were invited to
Greymain School’s Dress Rehearsal for “Super Stan”.
It was a musical about a superhero called Super Stan.
Before Super Stan became Super Stan he was called Stan
and he worked for the Candy King at a candy store in a park
called Proton Park. Everyone called Stan Staggering Stanley
and he was very clumsy because he would drop everything
that was valuable and that's why they call him Staggering
Stanley. Stan got turned into a superhero by something
called Formula 44 which got injected into him.

Candy King was a supervillain everyone thought he was a
superhero. The Candy King made gobstoppers that made
anyone who ate them hypnotised and there was a remote
that controlled anyone that had a gobstopper and whoever
had the remote could control anyone. The Candy King has 3
workers and a ton of minions.

Jake Bailey
We had a person called Jake Bailey come and do a speech at our school and he had cancer. He delivered an inspirational speech about life skills. Jake Bailey had cancer for 5 months and 3 months in hospital and he survived cancer. When he started to have cancer he was only 18 and the school he went to was called Christchurch Boys High.
He talked about Resilience, Happiness, Leadership, Bravery, worries and heroes and how these can help us.
I thought he was a very inspirational and motivational speaker because he was confident and an amazing speaker.

Kea Patrol
Kea Patrol
I think that kea patrol should NOT be in the morning because the kea patrol people could be late and people cross the road at different times. Kea patrol in the afternoon is very busy. The signs aren’t used in very windy and rainy conditions.
Firstly, Kea patrol should not be in the morning because the kea patrol people might forget to do it or they might be late. The little kids should have kea patrol but the big kids who are year 7 to year 8 should not need kea patrol because the year 7 and 8 students should know how to cross the road.
Secondly, Kea patrol is in the afternoon which is good because lots of people will be going home or going places or going to trainings so after school will be busy. The speed signs show you that you have to slow down to 40 which helps the kea patrol people get people across the road easier.
Thirdly, I think it’s good they don’t use the signs when it’s really rainy and when it's really windy. Then the teachers pretend to be the signs and help us cross the road and let us go home. The signs are also a decent size for what the school needs and they are a bright colour.
In conclusion I believe kea patrol is good overall. I use it everyday after school. It helps me cross the most deadly road in the country safely.

Review on the Mana The Spirit of Polynesia
Review on Mana The Spirit of Polynesia Show
On Friday the 9th of May In Room 8 at Karoro School we saw a performance called Mana - The Spirit of Polynesia. It was a good show I enjoyed it. Bernard Mangakahia was talented and nice. The things that he did was Poi, a Hoop Dance, Haka, Hawaiian lava lava, Hip Hop, a moko (Māori patterns on face), Sign Language. He also asked for volunteers and I was one of them and a lot of people volunteered and that was good because you could see how much people want to help.
Bernard Mangakahia told us how Native American Indians used 30 to 40 hoops for the hoop dance. It took Bernard 10 years to learn how to dance with 7 hoops for the hoop dance. Some of the parts of the performance were funny and some of the parts weren’t funny.
Bernard was born in Malaysia and his mum was born in East Africa. He did the performance because he was telling us about all the different cultures and dances from different places. The culture that I was most interested in was the Native American Indians. This show was pretty good I enjoyed it.

Blaketown Beach
The guardian of the Blaketown Beach brings all the dead bodies that haven’t been found in to
his cave and he messily eats them for protein. He also causes the rips in the grey sea and he
drags the bodies into the ocean roughly. One of the days he furiously dragged a body and it was
a crash test dummy and the big taniwha got really mad. His green skin turned red and he was
furious so he harshly attacked some big boats to get some people's bodies because he was
very hungry.

If you think he could just eat fish there is something called a food chain. He slowly crawled along
the wet stones and the hard driftwood then he walked around Blaketown at night and there
were people partying at a big house. He went there and he camouflaged into the very dark
night so no one could see him outside. He stalked them for ages for the right moment to attack
the teenagers.

The green taniwha was so happy that he had some meaty food but then he got hungry a year
later and so went back for more people. He went to the local rugby game, beat up everyone for
food and took them back to his very dark cave.
